[KLUG Members] MD5 passwd problem

Hi,

I have a Suse 9.3 Pro server with ypserv. When I add a user and set
their password using passwd, they get the longer MD5 passwords starting
with the $1$. The Suse clients seem ok with it.
However, the RH 9 and RH Enterprise clients don't let me login. If I do
a ypcat passwd from the RH clients I can see the account and the
encrypted password so I know it is making it to the client. 
Do I have to update something or modify PAM configs on the RH boxes to
get them to use the stronger encryption? If so, can anyone show me how?
