[KLUG Members] When Launching Apps from a terminal

session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols
specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.


I get this "Authentication Rejected" error when launching applications
from the command line, whether I am on Gnome or KDE.  How would one go
about solving this problem?  The applications seem to function normally.
