[KLUG Members] nscd problem, it's not resolving via "files", then "ldap"

Hello

nscd keeps switching between authenticating via "files" and "ldap".  Once nscd
is restarted, it authenticates correctly "files".  After a while, it starts
authenticating via "ldap" (which is after "files in the nsswitch.conf).

1. An account/group exists in both ldap and local files  
2. The machine is running nscd  
3. nsswitch.conf has "files ldap" for both group and passwd 

What can be the reason ?
