You need to go to your SuSE menu and under Utilities --> Printing, select Printing Manager (if you use KDE). It will bring up your KDE cups user configuration. You enter Administrator Mode and then select the default paper type by click on the Printer dropdown and choosing Configure. If that doesn't work, you need to use YaST and define the paper type in the queue settings for your printer. I will need to know some more specifics to make a more informed guess.

Subject: [KLUG Members] scanner / printer register problem

Using Suse 10.0, Epson Perfection 1200U scanner and the Iscan scanner
utility.
The problem: When I do a preview scan of a full page, all looks well and
in register of the scan window. If I scan to file, all is in register.
But if I scan to printer, the printer starts to print the document from
the top but indexes the paper in the printer aproximately 1/3 down
before the printing actually starts thus turning a single page document
in to a 2 page document.
The printer is set for "letter " size paper.
How do I get the two back in sync?
