This is not an authoritative answer, but I do believe that the only difference 
between the three kinds of memberships is how much you pay.  You get to feel 
cooler, and appreciation from KLUG is shown by putting your name 
under "classes" of donation amounts.

Last time I checked it should be gold, silver, then bronze.  I like black and 
silver better than bronze or gold myself.  I don't think there were any 
racist intentions there, but then again it is premature to cast judgement 
without knowing what's up with this.  It's more likely that someone 
incorrectly specified a RGB value (0xFFFFFF = black : 0x000000 = white)
