[KLUG Members] flashing lcd monitor when booting SUSE 10 from DVD

My daughter's computer had a RAM DIMM that went dead yesterday. I
replaced it only to find the computer would no longer boot. Sigh.

Booted SUSE via the cd (DVD, actually) and the LCD monitor begins
flashing on and off constantly so it can't be read (It did the same
during installation too). So, I had to replace it with a CRT monitor to
work with it.

BTW, I booted with an Ubuntu live CD and it didn't have the problem.

I can't guarantee, of course, I'll always have a CRT anytime I need to
use the SUSE DVD. Any ideas of a fix?

kind regards,

bill
