[KLUG Members] Server

Ok well before I make a trip (and I might for the picnic :: shrugs :: ) here are the stats:

hp netserver lp 2000r
1 ghz Pentium III 256k L2 cache 133mhz fsb cpu (dual capable with terminator installed)
1 g.b. of memory PC133
3x 9.1 gb scsi III hp/Fujitsu hdd w/current firmware
12x cdrom (I think)
hp Netraid 1M RAID controller.
Dual 10/100 NIC (eepro100) Intel

Currently it is running RAID level 5 w/SuSE 10 Retail in text mode, and after POST completion and SCSI detection, it takes almost a min to boot to a login prompt with Apache2 and stock mail services enabled. I had thought about turning it into a quake II server, however the upload bandwidth here has been capped by charter (imagine that). It was given to me after it's previous owner had cursed cried and smashed with hammer. Well, not really but he couldn't get it to operate properly. I purchased a referb motherboard for it and it worked fine after that. I also bought brand new Ultra cables since the old ones were poorly made and were unravelling. Also, since there was a known issue with the backplanes, I bought recertified backplanes for it. I don't have a very sizeable investment in this (meaning I didn't exceed it's worth) but since I don't want to fight with Charter about bandwidth restrictions, I figure it would be better to get rid of it for a write off. If you
require pictures please let me know.

Thanks,

Nik

KLUG is always interested in donations, which we can put to good use
for projects or to improve the postion of the group. Your donation is
readily accepted at any meeting (the next meeting being our ANNUAL PICNIC
on THE FOURTH OF JULY). Since KLUG is a 501(c)(3) tax-exemp organization,
your donation is also tax deductible. If nessesary, we will come to you
in order to pick up donations, too.
                            Regards,
