There is no "share the printer".  CUPS, the printing subsystem on LINUX,
is an IPP server;  all printers are always an IPP queue.

Yep, at least with XP and other LINUX boxes.  Not at certain with 2000,
but you should be able to make it work.  BTW,  the Windows boxes won't
"see" the printer, you'll have to add it.  On the LINUX boxes it should
just appear if you have 'listen for remote printers' enabled  (I know
where it is in Yast,  I've got no idea where it is in Ubuntu).
