I just migrated a server from SuSe 9.2 to SuSe 10.0. I
rsync'd /var/lib/imap and /var/spool/imap then stopped the IMAP server,
did a "sync", and rsync'd again to get a stateful snapshot. Some of the
db4 databases in /var/lib/imap wouldn't open but I just blew them away
and instructed the new server to create them as skiplist and restarted.
I already had the 'important' databases such as "seen" in skip list so
those transitioned without incident. The db4 databases were "duplicate"
and "quota"; "duplicate" will take care of itself and quota can be
regenerated.

So you'll have to check what databases you are using, in what format,
and go from there. imapd.conf man page specifies what the defaults are
if you didn't pick something else.
