I ran VMWare on SuSE 9.3 at my last gig with great stability. With
Linux as the host OS, Windows really did run the best I've seen it
run when I ran it in a window like that. I was just about to leave,
so I didn't upgrade to 10.0, but the VMWare forums are a great place
to check for compatibility issues.

The only speed bump I ever had was when a new kernel version was
released. I had to rebuild the vmware tools, but also any other
special modules like my video card, etc. Something like having to
create a symlink to the kernel source, but it had to be named what
the config program expected it to be. Or maybe I'm confusing that
with my video driver. But if I remember correctly, the procedures are
well documented in the VMWare forums.

Day to day, my system ran great. I just knew to set aside 30 minutes
or so to get those things working again when a new kernel was
released. That might not be an issue anymore.

Good luck!
