[KLUG Members] sendmail question

Chet,

Reading my email back, I realize I did not mention that this happens on
the server where the email is suppossed the reach its final destination.

The user 'marleen at flex.nl' is on the server where I found this log. This
means there is another server contacting 'flex.nl' in an attempt to
deliver an email to user 'marleen'. Then sendmail on 'flex.nl' records a
delay of 4:46... but procmail only uses one second?

Is sendmail starting this time count at the moment the remote server is
contacting and the count is stopped when the whole email is arrived.
That must be some email that takes that long!
There is also some spam-filter running, could this be the cause , i.e.
the spam-filter daemon fails? But if so why is xdelay than just one second?

I am left in the dark here.
