Several things.

OK, and obvious (maybe dumb) question is: "What is different between the
two virtual hosts?".

We don't believe you, of course! :) Either the problem existed before and
you were not aware of it, or you made a subtle and (you thought) unrelated
change to the server enviroment.... OR... you made a (similar?) change to
the client that now makes the site unreachable for some reason. I do not
beleive the error "just started to happen"; we don't live in a magical
world.

Hmmm... is there an automatic update effecting the server or the client?
Another possibility... am I grasping at straws?... well, yes.

Ah, so how many virtual hosts do you have on that machine, and which ones
work?

Local to what? A client on a different LAN host? On the same box as the server?

Um, let's see... permissions?

Another thought... have you checked the error logs of the virtual hosts?
the server access logs? please do so if you have not.

Offered as leads and food for thought and examination. Please provide more
information and we can reach more specific conclusions.
