You could try ubuntu. Most thing work right out of the box and there is in-depth support. Let me know if you decide and I will get you some ubuntu tweaks.

Good luck

Subject: [KLUG Members] Distro Recommendations

Hello Everyone,
I'm looking for recommendations on a Linux distribution to be installed
on an IBM T30 laptop w/integrated wifi, cd/dvd combo drive, 1 meg ram,
40 gig hd.
I've been using SUSE 10.0 for almost a year now on the twin to this
machine and recently started to play with the Nokia flavor of Debian on
their internet tablet. So my experience is very limited. Obviously my
first choice would be SUSE because of my familiarity with it but I'd
like to keep and open mind.

Regards,

Peter
