could be, but

1. Didn't have to do that for 2.2
   - installing the 2.2 desktop-integration RPM worked fine for gnome

2. 2.2 no longer worked once 2.3 was installed
   - the desktop-integration for 2.3 didn't add anything to the menu
   - even the 2.2 shortcuts were gone
