[KLUG Members] udev problem

I need to fiddle with udev to get my removable devices to show up in the 
same place all the time.  I've got a USB thumbdrive, a printer with 
memory card slot, and a blackberry that are all supported under usb mass 
storage.  I also have a an external drive hooked up through ieee1394.  I 
know in principle how to write udev rules for the USB devices to add a 
link to them, but it doesn't work.  I don't even know how to tell udev 
about the ieee1394 drive!  Any expert advice out there?
