"ExtremeTech is reporting that a U.S. district court has ruled that
Intel's Itanium infringes Intergraph's intellectual property to the tune
of $150 million in damages. The judge also cleared the way for
Intergraph to request an injunction blocking sales of Itaniums and
Itanium 2's."

Did anyone read this slashdot story? WOW! That could have
implications. If they have to retool the EPIC, which provides VLIW
among other things, that is no small task. This could have real
implications.

And I love watching intellectual property burn the very people it is
supposed to protect.

IMHO, this is the most likely situation to actually result in the
roll-back of some intellectual property laws, it will just make
commerce to expensive and cumbersome for the people with the $$$ to buy
a few senators and get it done.

This message undoubtedly processed by the purely benevolent "US
Department of Homeland Security", but don't worry... they're
only goal is to protect life, liberty and the pursuit of property.
