Short of editing config files manually, you can use one of
the redhat config tools: (your choice)
linuxconf netconfig control-panel

Most likely related to your network problem.
It's trying to lookup your hostname or something.
Also nuke your DNS name servers in your network config.

That may work, although I would add them all on one line, like:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost RainMan.pH2rd RainMan

Not likely, looks unrelated.
Probably warnings from your window manager or desktop (Gnome, KDE, whatever).
