	My son also sent me a means to adjust this under KDE
"Go to 'configuration' under the K menu, then KDE, then 
peripherals. Choose keyboard. There's a checkbox for repeat 
there :)         Glen"

Because your method is (apparently) universal across all window 
managers I am going to forward this to my son. 

I begin to suspect that the major difference between a genuine 
Unix sysad and mere mortals is knowing the name of the 
appropriate Unix utility program. :-) After that, 'man filename' 
and a careful reading seem to resolve probably 95% of my 
"unresolved opportunities". (aka "problems")

Thanks bunches ... I don't know when or for what reason, but 
it's almost certain I will be tapping yer brain again! :-)
