Well, my illustrious in-the-black, DSL provider just informed me that
they will be unable to provide service beyond January 2, 2002.

:(


However, they are offering a transition to Earthlink's DSL service.  :)
I've already gone through the registration process so everything should
change over with no interruption of service.  Except of course that
Bignet offered no-fuss DHCP service and Earthlink uses PPPoe. :(  So I
need to reconfig my firewall (floppyfw),  which claims to support PPPoe.
So ultimately, it is a :) story.

But I'm curious if anyone else is using Earthlink DSL with Linux?  And
if you have met any problems?  (Thier web server appears to be running
IIS, which I take as a bad sign.  I mean what ISP worth anything uses
IIS?).  Does anyone know about their port filtering policies?
