[KLUG Members] LTSP without DHCP

Hi there,

I have setup my K12-Linux server, which as I understand it, is Red Hat with all the LTSP stuff and educational software bundled. In a perfect world, it seems that the server also provides addresses to the clients via DHCP. In my imperfect world, we already have a DHCP server running and I really can't mess with its configuration. Here's what I'd like to do:

1) Boot from floppy, somehow specifying the address of the terminal server, so it goes straight into a session.

OR

2) Boot from a local linux install and autostart a session into the terminal server.

I prefer option #1. My goal is to setup an Internet lab to reuse the old P100, 120, and other aging PC's as terminals. I think I've challenged the thinking of certain people here, especially as licensing and support costs are in front of us right now. I guess it's sort of a Boogies thing only in a school. :)

I asked this question on their list, but got no response. I've looked high and low, but am just not finding any documentation that shows me how to specify a server instead of relying on DHCP and all that. Any pointers in the right direction are super appreciated.
