Boogie's is a 24-hr cafe with a large contingent of college
students and when I've been there they are pretty busy into the
wee hours. There are about 3 coffee joints in Kalamazoo that
could stand to roll out free 802.11b wireless networking and
Boogie's is the strongest contender.
Anyone know if they'd have any interest?
I don't go there often because of the smoke but if they just
spring for an Apple Airport (easy to config) students could
procrastinate their homework by net-surfing while sipping their
tasty beverages.
There are some risks, mainly:
* enabling hackers of all hat colors to launch anonymous attacks
on outside sites,
* enabling anyone who knows what they're doing to sniff passwords
or personal data from other patrons' traffic
but, eh, everyone else is doing it, why the hell not Boogie's? :)
(If there's a Boogie's-project-specific mailing list, feel free
to put me on it...)
