>Boogie's is a 24-hr cafe with a large contingent of college
>students and when I've been there they are pretty busy into the
>wee hours. There are about 3 coffee joints in Kalamazoo that
>could stand to roll out free 802.11b wireless networking and
>Boogie's is the strongest contender.

Jamie,
Thanks for proposing this, I'll be taking it up with the owners of
the place shortly, and we'll weigh the merits of this vs. other
ways of extending service at Boogies.

This project provides a public showcase for Linux, exposes a lot
of people to the system, acts as a lab and opprtunity for interested
members of KLUG, and benefits the group financially, as a whole. Ideas
like this one are one of the things that make the project interesting
and can involve volunteers at all levels of skill. As you have pointed
out, this idea is quite promising, but has some security problems
that have to be dealt with.

In the coming year, we can do a number of exciting things at Boogies,
and we can provide some good opportunities for those who step forward
and are willing to participate.

So thanks agian, Jamie, and to all of you who have helped KLUG be a real
success, at Boogies and other places, all during 2001!

							Regards,
							Happy New Year!
