Hi bruce.

Maybe you can answer a question i have.

I have a Ricoh mp7120 atapi cdrw drive. I am using kernel 2.2.19, and
have the ide-scsi emulator and the sg driver
compiled into the kernel. The cdrw drive works perfectly with
cdparanoia and cdrecord, however when i try to play audio cds on it
using cdcd, dcd, or cdtool, I have an interesting problem.

after I put the audio cd in the drive, everything works perfectly. If
i issue the command cdcd play 1, the cd starts just fine. However if
I then type cdcd stop, the cd will stop, but the next time I want to
play it, i either have to issue two cdcd play commands, or open and
close the drive, after which the first cdcd play command will work
just fine. Do you have any idea what could be going on?

I have the command: append="hdc=ide-scsi" in my lilo.conf file.
Removing this line from the lilo.conf file, and telling cdcd to use
/dev/hdc as the cdrom device, cdcd plays properly on every command
regardless of whether I've just loaded the audio cd or not.

Any help would really be appreciated. Do I need to add anything to
the append command, or modify something in the ide-scsi driver or
what?

Sincerely,
