[KLUG Members] PHP+FRONTPAGE+MySQL on apache, RPM Error

Has any one here ever used these three modules and patches, I found a person that has done
this at www.joshie.com, I downloaded the rpm's he has, but if i try to install them i get a error 
that says...

only packages with major numbers <= 3 are supported by this version of RPM.
i'm using the latest version of RPM off of redhat's site on SuSE linux 7.0

If i download all the sources, plus the FP patch, i get an error while configureing 
php4 it says....

checking for yywrap in -ll... no
checking lex output file root... ./configure: lex: command not found
configure: error: cannot find output from lex; giving up

any help would be great
