First, the SSSCA has about 0% chance of becoming law.  Not that another
insidious proposal won't be in the pipes later, but this particular one
is dead in the water.  Many technology companies (including IBM, etc...)
have gone on record saying this is a bad idea.

Second, as someone who spends a fair amount of time writing to
representitives, etc..., and making a general stink I'd be *stunned* if
Michigan was part of such a lawsuit.  At least the west side is very
uniformally pro-corporate, pro-business, and anti-labor.  Raising issues
of a free and open society with transparent governance will generally
get you a "oh, your one of those" dismissal.  (Not that we don't have
some at least partially well intentioned representitives,  Vern Ehlers
is a *very* smart guy and *always* responds to letters, etc....  But
they know where their bread is buttered).
