Try running "Xconfigurator" from a console root window.

If you really want to be on the bleeding/leading edge, get Redhat 7.2.
It has XFree86 4.1.0. 7.1 came with 4.0.x (don't remember if x=1,2,3).
4.1.0 has a lot of improvements and bug fixes for newer video cards.
