Well, in Linksys' defense, look at their ASP (average selling
price).

What you need is a vendor that caters to Linux users.  Right now at
AVS, we sell just a development kit.  But we are working on an AP
based on our flexible/powerful DevKit, and it will give you
craploads of options.  Unfortunately, it won't be cheap.

We're also working on releasing mini-PCI, PCI and PCMCIA cards that
come with ready-to-go kernel modules for major distros and
releases.  Wireless LAN requires some intricate kernel changes so
it's not just a driver/module compile.  But our cards won't be too
expensive, and not far outside of Linksys' pricing either.
