Possibly.  Gnumeric also runs fine on my normal system, which 
has been upgraded to every single release since Redhat 4.2.

It seems like RH 7.1 needs a printer port module loaded that wasn't
required in 6.2.  What's your /etc/modules.conf file look like?
(may be named /etc/conf.modules on older systems)
