I know this is a LINUX discussion group but, I was hoping that someone might have the answer to this.

I use icons saved in folders for groups of people. When they logon and depending what group they are there icons will be placed on the desktop.
IE when High school students logon, they get MS office Icons and IE. When Staff logon they get: MS office and some other programs that they need.
Now, the policy thought Scipt Logic is for Desktop Icons to go to ads1\policy\HS staff\desktop
I put the policy file in the \\ads1\netlogon\policy for testing and this would replicate to the other domain controllers the files.
When a user is at another building we have them configured to go to the local domain controller and use the net logon\policy folder.
The problem is, if the ADS or other domain controller (that the user is configured to use) is down, then there icons are not on their computer and the screen goes blank.
I would like to put a switch so that it will look for the local domain controller and use those files.

IE: \\LocalDoaminController\Netlogon\policy I do not know how to make this work.
If anyone knows I would appreciate it.

Thanks
