Yes it is.  We frown pretty heavily on WinXX questions.  There are 
innumerable forums for Windows support (albiet, they all suck and are 
populated by hopeless PC jokeys).  I'd recommend Usenet.  Just the fact 
that one needs to use NNTP keeps out the drooling idiots.

We do much the same thing with Samba + OpenLDAP

This is Windowss 2000 *PROFESSIONAL* build on "NT Technology"!

Ever notice if you expand "NT Technology" it says "New Technology 
Technology"?  What does that mean?  Does Microsoft have a stutter?

Yes, same thing happens to us when ever (not if ever) Ameri-wreck trashes

Why not always use the local policy file?  If your replicating/pushing it 
out there....  You call call regedit from the logon script and tweak 
whatever values you want.
