Hand coding of html pages using a text editor is the most flexible way
to create single pages of html code. The advantages of hand coding are
clean, efficient code, easy experimenting with various commands and a
first hand knowledge of how your site works and how it is organized.
When a website starts to grow, it becomes more and more difficult to
maintain a standard background, font and script format across the entire
website using hand coding techniques. This presentation describes a
simple technique that can be used to update and maintain a multipage
website using a text editor and a few linux commands. It allows the user
to edit the format of the entire website by changing one textfile.
