That's very true!  You didn't ruffle any feathers that I know of.

If you want to see some real "ruffled feathers", you should see some 
of the threads on the [private] volunteers (officers) list!!!   ;->

Vern, we will always listen to new ideas, from anyone!

And, we won't get our feathers ruffled, BUT we ask the same in return,
that you don't get your feathers ruffled either, if we reject the idea.

My main reason for rejecting the idea, is my "do it myself" mentality. 
We have the resources to do something like this ourself (bandwidth,
computers, etc.) and if we're going to do something like this, I want to
LEARN how to do it, by DOING it.  I don't like farming out services to
other web sites around the net.  I want to learn how, and the best way
I've found to learn is by doing.  That is a purpose of KLUG, to learn
about Linux and related services.

My "do it myself" mentality extends far beyond KLUG.  I run my company's
web servers in house instead of paying someone else for web hosting. 
The same goes for other network services too.  I run my own DNS servers,
mail servers, proxy servers, e-commerce site, firewalls, ....

I really like the fact that KLUG is self contained and we run/host our
own website, mailing lists, FTP site, ...

Besides the "learning" aspect, I also believe it's also a lot more
impressive to be able to say that we run all of our own services on
Linux, when promoting Linux.  Promoting Linux is also a purpose of KLUG.
