Mmm,  I've is discovered several interesting things about 2.2.3a,  although not
this problem.

If you've got printers attached to the 2.2.3a box for NT / WinY2k / XP(aka the
official OS of Angamandi) go and get the patches from
http://ftp.samba.org/ftp/jerry/samba-2.2.3a-patches/, apply and rebuild ASAP.

Do you have a valid "guest account =" in your globals stanza.
