Great, I'll have to dig up a compiler.   :-(
(this is HPUX and I downloaded a binary)

Yup.  Once I assigned it a password to get by, it can connect.
(bad solution)

I used to say "public" (Synonym for guest ok) instead of 
"guest ok = true", but I changed that without any luck.

Here's an example:


[lj5]
   comment = lj5 - Purchasing
   path = /tmp
   printer = lj5
   guest ok = true
   writable = no
   printable = yes
   create mode = 0700
