Ew! "wins hook" + dns_update calling nsupdate (a part of BIND itself) is far
more `live` and elegant than the batch method described (IMHO). If a user boots
a PC not in DNS and tries to do something before the batch job propogates them
into DNS and thus the servers can't reverse-lookup them; what happens? And what
takes a PC out od DNS when it is gone? With "wins hook" if a user shuts down
their PC it is removed from DNS keeping the cruft to a minimum. What percentage
of DNS entries worlwide indicate hosts the no longer exist? I'll wager it is
pretty high.
