For some time, I have participated in a message board, not Linux stuff,
where there was message threading, but all the "headers" of each respondent
were listed, until a new topic was formed, then there would be a space
between topics. Any 'registered' member, which was no big thing, could
contribute to an ongoing topic, and add topics.

Unfortunately, that message board has gone off the air. How big a deal is
it to create a website that supports message board stuff? I confess, I
don't have a clue as to how to do it. It was all done as .asp pages, but
that was probably a function of the server it was on? Thanks.

Instead of the semantics of samba, we talked about how to get your landing
gear down, the details of replacing cowl flap motors without having spending
more than you could ever imagine.
Anyway, any pointers would be appreciated.
