The UI was odd, but the program did work, and pretty peppy too. With nice
features like limitting it to a certain number of CPUs, etc... The
configuration panels seem to go on forever, but once you've set V4L, etc...
capturing really was a piece of cake. I don't use it currently as I don't have
a editing box set up. I've never seen imovie, except on the commercials.

There is also Kino (firewire camcorders) and Linux Video Studio (MPJEG
hardware), but as mentioned they seem more specific to working with particular
hardware. But I haven't tried either of them.

>By the way, according to their web site, the reason that they pulled the
>product is that they have heard of some open source software developers being
>sued for financial damages to companies that sell commercial software similar
>to what they create. The creators of broadcast 2000 said that they did not
>want to open themselves up to similar liability.

Which is either (a) paranoia (b) crap covering for another reason they don't
want to say or (c) evidence they used some code in their app they shouldn't
have.
