Quantum = good.
Seagate = good.
IBM = good.
Fujitsu = good.

Western digital, Maxtor, et al: BAD. Western digital and maxtor, and compUSA drives (aren't they maxtors?) are pretty bad. Yes, you can get a large hard drive for very cheap with a WD caviar, but man-- you pay for it later, esp. when the drive dies.

I personally own a quantum, a maxtor, a western digital, a fujitsu,m and a handful of seagates. Never had a problem from the seagates or the quantum of the fujitsu. The maxtor and the wd: Problems. Plenty.

Save yourself the time and effort, and spend the extra on one of the four I said were good.
