I would. Some of them feature hardware MJPEG capture for true,
no-frame-loss 30fps @ 704x480 (NTSC). A couple of the Pinnacle Micro
PCI cards work well with Linux using MJPEG capture c/o an on-board Zoran
codec. I believe the "DV10" product has it (?).

Otherwise, the last "all-in-one" model I ever used that worked in Linux
was the Matrox Marvel G400-TV. The G400 is "behind the times" on 3D,
but the MJPEG capture uses the same Zoran codec. You can still find
them on PriceWatch.COM.

You can also check out the discontinued IOMega Buz, usually found on
eBay for cheap. It too has the same Zoran MJPEG codec. Under Windows,
compatibility was crap because of the closed source drivers and various
issues, but under Linux, it is much more compatible.

P.S. I never liked the ATI capture cards. Still using a software-based
capture implementation. BTW, don't confuse "MPEG-2 output 'motion
compensation'" with MPEG-2 capture -- the former doesn't help the latter
at all.
