I ahve an IBM 4019, these things rock!

>The printer still works fine, but I've found toner for this thing
>costs over $200 new, and about $75 for a reconditioned cartridge.

Buy the NEW cartridge. I tried a couple of brands of refurbs and have had them
ruin printers, dump piles of toner, wedge up and strip gears, etc... Used
cartridges below in the dump.

I put a 11,500 page cartridge in my 4019, yes it cost $200, and the printer
sells on e-bay for $25-50, but it prints. And I could very possible die before
I need to buy another cartridge.

>I can probably buy a whole new printer for under $200 . . .
>I'm open to suggestions of the best way to go. Buy new or
>reconditioned toner for my old printer? Or a recommendation on a good
>replacement new printer?
>As you can probably tell, I don't print much at home. Because of that
>I probably don't want to replace it with an inkjet because the ink will
>dry up from lack of use. B&W laserjet is fine for my needs.

And inkjet ink smears and bleeds if it is even NEAR moisture. And if fades
something fierce.
