You will also find the modem "rental" going up as well.  I believe Best Buy
has an RCA modem on sale for around 109$.  If you figure that the payback is
< 2 yrs (5$/mo rental), you will breakeven around 22 months; the modem has a
3 yr warranty...so a purchase would be a wise move.

Didn't they just crank up the rates about 6 months ago?

Charter is going to start charging more for internet service.
My bill could go from 34.95 to 52.95 for the 768k service.
It wasn't clear whether my rate would be 42.95 or 52.95.

That's a significant increase.  It's too bad there isn't
competition!! Where I live Charter is the only choice.
