[KLUG Members] Wtf is up with my mouse?

I have, in the past, had ALOT of problems running XFree86. The main problem
is, well... it didn't run. Well, I was resizing a partition, and during the
process, I must have moved partitions around in addition. So, when I went to
go fix LILO, I used my Slack install CD to boot, and while booting, I saw a
message I had never seen during the boot process - "PS/2 Mouse detected".
Now, the thing is, I run a USB mouse. So, when LILO was all fixed up, I went
into XFree86Config, and altered the mouse settings from those a USB mouse
(which should have worked, but got errors during startx) to those of a PS/2
mouse. I ran startx, and it worked. I have NOTHING in my PS/2 port, and my
mouse in my USB port. So, I'd curious to why /dev/usb/mouse0 or
/dev/usb/mouse1 won't work, though /dev/mouse works fine on a PS/2 protocol.
It just doesn't make sense. And, I'm sure that I'm not confusing USB and
PS/2, so don't suggest it. ;)
