Yeah but just try to run a workstation with less than administrator
privledges, what a joke....

This won't happen enmass for games, educational software, and other
products unless there can be a finacial payoff (look at what happened
to Loki).  If a person needs to make a living from the programming
then there needs to be a financial reward.  I think free is really
nice (I am dutch after all) but I do not have a problem paying a
modest fee (to many software packages are WAY over priced) for a
program that I like.  I love crossover and paid the $30.00 for it.

Actually in some respects being popular does make you the defacto
standard!!

Not everyone is savvy enough to run VMware... and you still have to
cough up the $99 for Win 98 or the $199 for Windows 2000 Pro!!
