You have to realize who Petereley is writing for.  The ignorant
CIO/MS-bigot who things XML is just XML and that XML does everything.

Correct.  And an XML file alone is just that -- it doesn't give you the
underlying mechanics to calculate how things interact with gravity.  You
need other things to make use of the fundamentals.
