AMD has got API Networks and a crapload of former Alpha engineers. And
even Intel has licensed their x86-64 ISA. The problem with AMD has
_never_ been its products, but its products in the shadow of Intel.

First they finally got off the Intel platform. That was good. Now with
x86-64, _they_ control the ISA! No more endless Intel BS instructions
and "workarounds." AMD controls the platform!

The PC world just got 10x better.

Actually, with the AMD 762 northbridge, they could use 4 of them to
create an 8-way. But they didn't. They decided to wait until Hammer
(x86-64) to create more than 2.

The US government could be 100x more effective, and 1/100th the
Constitutional worry, if it dictated its policy to Microsoft as
THE MAJOR CUSTOMER it is, and not THE REGULATOR it fails to be.
