It is pppoe, it should work just fine.

I've been tempted to switch to Ameritech,  but they are inflexible and 
confusing to deal with.  I haven't used their service but the terms are 
the same as Earthlink:  Your IP is dynamic, and they block ports 25 & 80.  
Which means to anyone who needs to do VPN, or work on mail servers, etc... 
it doesn't matter if it costs $5 a month.  It's worthless.
