Can anyone put together a presentation on OpenOffice v1.0.1
specifically the Impress & AutoPliot application??? If you
know the tool you should be able to make this presentation!!!
It IS, of course, the presentation tool in the killer Open
Source (GPL) office suite! P L E A S E !

Contact Adam Williams at programdirector@kalamazoolinux.org

We have several open presentation slots available in the near
future. See http://kalamazoolinux.org/meetings/schedule.php3

This presentation request evolved for the discussion below...

>>I've been meaning to learn the Open/Star Office presentation tool that
>>Adam uses, but I've never taken the time.
>>
>>Maybe someone should give a presentation on the presentation tool? :-)

>Now that would be a VERY cool learning experience. Maybe we should
>suggest this on the members list and see if anyone volunteers. We
>all could use that knowledge. OK... I am going to post a request!!!
>Now that Linux has the M$ Office killer app we should promote it.
>It is just so wonderfully anti-800lbs gorilla! And as you would
>say... IT WORKS! It promotes Open Source where it counts, the
>desktop masses. It tickles my subversive instincts... :-) I think
>even the command line nerds (my favs) will embrace this GUI tool!

>OpenOffice Impress looks real user friendly. I played with it on
>my Win 98SE box and it looks as easy or easier than M$ Power Point.
>It starts with a wizard called "AutoPilot Presentation" that walks
>you through the entire slide creation process. I was able to make
>it work the first time I tried it and the help file instructions
>are awesome. Should be easy to convert text notes to something
>that would have more IMPRESSIVE impact! (pardon the pun) ;-)
