We use NetTerm on our winblows boxes, it is a very nice terminal emulator.

You might want to look at multi-gnome-term.  If that doesn't have want you 
want then contact the gnome-terminal maintainer.  Seriously.  He has 
called for feature requests before.

I think multi-gnome-term does.
