Some X11 applications will run when when built on a mac when you use it in 
X darwin Xfree86. There are some issues with compatibility of the GUI 
front ends though. The easiest way to run X11 apps under OSX is to set up 
an ssh -X and just run the app from the server. This still reguires 
Xfree86 which can be foung at www.osxgnu.org along with many other open 
source apps for the mac.
