No, you have to go to the right people at Ameritech because it is a huge
company and you have to go to the right piece of it.

Bad news. According to the following, you are registered with Network
Solutions. Now, this is not scientifically verified advice, but
apparently only Ameritech-sized companies can get decent service from
them. You either have to tell Network Solutions to change their NS
records for your domain, get Ameritech to do it for you, or get another
registrar and have them issue registry/NS change commands for you.
